Valentine’s Day

“If you love someone, let them know. Hearts are often broken by words left unsaid.”

There is a lot of stigma that comes along with Valentine’s Day. You either love it or you hate it. For me, I’ve always been a fan of Valentine’s Day, regardless of whether or not I had a Valentine. I think there’s something beautiful about having a day dedicated to romance and love. It reminds us not to take the people in our lives for granted and to appreciate them for everything that they are.

My one critique of Valentine’s Day is to those that use this day as the only day to express their love. Love should be shown in every second of everyday, whether it’s giving someone a hug at the end of a difficult day, spending the morning cooking breakfast together, or telling them to take an umbrella in case it rains. I think it is a beautiful thing to have a day dedicated solely to love and expression of that love, but don’t forget to do it throughout the year.

You don’t need to buy a million things and spend a ton of money on Valentine’s Day. Make your loved one breakfast. Tell them you love them. Spend time with them. There are so many ways to express how much you love someone that won’t cost you a dime. Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be about the money spent. It’s about the thought that goes into the day and how you want to show that person that you love them.

Your Valentine also doesn’t have to be a significant other. Today is the perfect day to tell anyone and everyone you love that they mean a lot to you and that you’re thankful to have them in your life. Valentine’s Day is about love, regardless of who that love is for.

Use today to make sure the people you love know that you love them. Give extra hugs and kisses today. And most importantly, don’t let today be the only day that you show it.

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️
