Sugar Cookies & Cupcakes

This is unlike any recipe I’ve ever done. It’s a two-in-one recipe. This same recipe makes both sugar cookies and sugar cupcakes. This sugar cookie recipe is one that has been in my family for generations; they’re known for having cake-like consistency, so I decided to try them in my favorite form: cupcakes.


Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon¬†Baking Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Cream together butter and sugar
  • Add flour and 3/4 cup milk, alternating to prevent splashing
  • Add eggs, baking powder, and baking soda
  • Add remaining milk, salt, and vanilla extract

Cookies:

  • Scoop balls no larger than one inch in diameter onto the cookie sheet
  • Bake 10-12 minutes
  • While cookies are still warm, sprinkle white sugar on top and let cool
  • Enjoy!

Cupcakes: 

  • Line cupcake tins and spray with nonstick cooking spray
  • Fill cupcake tins approximately 3/4 full
  • Bake 20-25 minutes
  • While cupcakes are still warm, sprinkle white sugar on top and let cool
  • Enjoy!
