January 2016

Here are some of my favorite things from the month of January!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation – $43

I’ve always been one for full-coverage foundations, regardless of how many breakouts I have, so I was skeptical when the consultant at Sephora recommended this medium coverage foundation. Reluctantly, I gave it a shot and fell in love. While it’s marketed as a medium coverage foundation, it’s completely buildable and I can use as much or as little as I want on a given day. I use my BeautyBlender to apply it and it’s magic.

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle – $32

I don’t think I’ve ever had a makeup product last as long as this highlighter. I’ve probably had this particular product for 5-6 years and I haven’t even made a dent. Granted, I stopped using it for a little while in there, but over the last month, I’ve fallen in love once again. It’s such a great highlighter to give you a subtle glow during the winter months without making you look oily or greasy.

Victoria’s Secret PINK Fresh & Clean Body Mist – $18

My best friend let me try this body mist on when I was at her house last summer and I absolutely loved it. Ever since then, I’ve been drooling over it in the store, but never gathered up the must to purchase it. My boyfriend caught onto that, so for Christmas, he bought me the body mist and lotion. I was shocked by how long it lasts; I find that this mist lasts longer than some of my actual perfumes, which run at 2-3 times the price. It’s my go-to scent right now. I haven’t used a different scent at all this month so I think it’s a safe bet to put this in my favorites.

Erin Condren LifePlanner – $50

January was the first month that I got to use my new Erin Condren LifePlanner. I’ve been dying to use it for months (I’ve had it since October, but the planner didn’t start until January) and, as I expected, I’m obsessed. It’s really great for my needs and I love the aesthetic. It’s pricey for a planner, but for me, I see it as a hobby since I customize and decorate it, so I don’t mind spending the extra cash. For me, if you love the way your planner looks, you will look at it more often and you are more likely to get things done.

Spotify Premium – $10

I’ve been using Spotify for a while now, but starting in the month of January, I bit the bullet and purchased Spotify Premium. Luckily, since I’m a university student, I was able to get the student discount, making it half the price. Regardless, I love it. I find myself listening to music far more often than before and I’m introducing myself to new music that I would’ve shied away from if I had to purchase songs individually.

“Someday” by Bryan Greenberg – $1

I could listen to this song all day on repeat, and sometimes I do. This is the second month in a row I’ve included a song that reminds me of One Tree Hill, but for some reason, I’m loving it lately. Bryan Greenberg played Jake Jagielski on OTH and he wrote this song for Peyton, so it gives you all the feels if you’re a fan of the show.
