It has been a long time since I sat down and made a list of my favorite items and products for a particular month. With the new year and a new start, I thought it would be appropriate to highlight my favorite things of late.
I used a Beauty Blender a few months back and absolutely loved it. Eventually, it became gross and I had to throw it out. I had always used either shampoo or Dawn to cleanse the sponge. Regardless of how often I cleaned it, it ended up with stains. My best friend recommended that I pick up the liquid cleanser; she uses it and showed me that her Beauty Blender looks like new every single time she uses it. I gave it a shot this month and I am completely hooked. This cleanser is like magic, literally making my Beauty Blender look as though it has never been used. I have yet to use it on my makeup brushes; for me, it is too pricey to waste on my makeup brushes when baby shampoo works sufficiently.
I used to love experimenting with eyeshadow looks. However, over the last few years, I find myself consistently reaching for neutral colors. In doing so, I noticed that my collection was lacking matte colors; the majority of the eyeshadows I owned were shimmery, giving me a far fancier look that I desired. I spotted this small palette and fell in love. All of the shades inside are matte, perfect for a natural look, and it is teeny tiny, making it perfect for travel. I could not be happier with this palette (unless the price was a little lower).
Baking and cooking for our Christmas celebration, this thing was a lifesaver. It makes mixing, cooking, and everything in between so much easier, simpler, and faster. It became especially helpful when three hours before dinner, my entire family requested that I make double batches of two different kinds of cookies. It saved my sanity this holiday season.
Since December means the holiday season, we spent a lot of time cooking and baking throughout the month. I received an overwhelming amount of requests for cookies. My favorite cookie recipe this season is our family Ginger Snaps. To me, they radiate holiday cheer.
My mom and I were able to marathon through How to Get Away With Murder this month and we are anxiously awaiting the return of the second season. I found this show to be fast-paced, entertaining, and unpredictable. Unpredictability is a characteristic that is difficult to find in modern day television, but ABC got it right this time.
Hearing this song immediately reminds me of Peyton and Lucas’ wedding on One Tree Hill. It is sentimental, but it is also about strength and looking at the brighter side of life. Optimism is key and I think that this song provides a great message for listeners, especially at the turn of a new year.
