April 2016

Here are a few of my favorite items from the month of April!

Beauty Blender (Original) – $20

I swear by my Beauty Blender. They are expensive, and for a while, I refused to pick one up because of the price tag. Why would I spend $20 on a sponge that will only last a short time when I can buy a brush that will last me a lifetime? But one use of this sponge and I was hooked. The sponge actually lasts you up to six months, far longer than I anticipated. It makes your makeup look flawless and has multiple uses. It can be used for liquid, cream, powder, you name it. I use it for multiple things every morning.

OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo – $8

I went through a hair crisis recently. My hair color was fading, revealing the bleached ombre underneath my brunette color. In order to combat this, I switched back to my well-loved OGX brand because of the lack of sulfates. The sulfates in shampoos are the things that cause your color to fade, so the avoidance of that has helped my brunette color stay more vibrant.

Secret Outlast Gel Antiperspirant/Deodorant (Sport Fresh) – $7

I’ve recently discovered that gel deodorants are far better for me than powder deodorants. I find that they last longer and do their job better. However, it’s not all gel deodorants. I tried this same brand in a different scent, and it wasn’t the same. The sport strength is what does the trick. There’s no reason any of those other deodorants should fade within an hour or need reapplication during the day. I find that this sport one will last me all day long.

Day Designer Flagship Mini Edition (Black Stripe) – $49

As much as I love my Erin Condren, and decorating it, it became a bit much to keep up with during finals. I switched over to the Day Designer, which allows me to track my daily schedule as well as to do lists, spending money, dinner plans, and other reminders. I found it to be a perfectly organized planner for me and my needs at school.

FitBit Charge HR (Black) – $150

The band on my boyfriend’s FitBit began to peel a bit, so he let the company know. With amazing customer service, they sent him a brand new one free of charge. His old FitBit worked, just had a few cosmetic issues, so he gave it to me. I’m loving the ability to track my activity every day and have competitions with other people. The app actually lets you start challenges with people you know. My dad, my boyfriend, and I have been using the challenges to see which one of us takes the most steps in a work week. It’s so much fun and is a great motivator to get up and get active.

“NO” by Meghan Trainor – $2

This is a song that stands out to me on the radio right now. Not only is it fun and edgy, but it gives women the confidence to know that it is okay to say no to sexual advances. Many women feel uncomfortable and insecure about speaking up and saying no when someone offers you a drink or continuously hits on you. I like that this song uses its fun, upbeat ways to pass that message along to women everywhere.
